What’s On In Melton Mowbray This Halloween For Adults

Why should kids have all the fun this Halloween season? As a lover of fancy dress, I don’t need a reason to dress up this Halloween. So if you want a night out with your friends or a date night where the kids stay at home, there are some great options in and around Melton Mowbray. The only thing you have to work out is what costume you’re wearing.

The Welcome Café (Tilton Road , Twyford and Thorpe)

If you don’t want to wait until Halloween weekend to party, then head to The Welcome Café on the 25th of October. These guys are hosting a halloween party from 5:30pm. The highlight is music by Stan’s Big Fish (their set is 7-9pm).

Tickets for this party are just £5pp and can be reserved by either visiting the café in person or by calling Jeanette on 07982 715229. Fancy dress is optional but there is a prize for the best costume on offer.

Meltdown (Tubes Nightclub, St Mary’s Way, Melton Mowbray)

Shortlisted in the best Arts & Culture category at this year’s business awards, Meltdown offers a rare opportunity for fans of pop punk, rock, alterative and metal music to come together in a safe space.

This year’s event features live music from two bands; Rats Eat Rats and Kerrank. Alongside DJ sets from Danny Darkness & DJ Mulletron. Alongside the music, Meltdown will be hosting beer pong and competitions throughout the evening.

Tickets are £10pp and are available via Minds Eye Apparel. As for timings, the fun starts at 9:30pm and goes to at least 2am. I say at least because:

  1. That’s what they say on the Facebook event.
  2. Tubes’ downstairs bit is open until 4am on a Friday and Saturday night.

The Genny B (King’s Street, Melton Mowbray)

Back by popular demand, Picto Mexico will be performing live. This will be taking place on the 1st of November from 10am. These guys are always popular, especially during Halloween, so I would advise arriving earlier (around half 8/9ish), to guarantee a good dancing spot. Especially given that this is a free entry gig.

Race Hub (Frisby Lakes, Hoby Road, Melton Mowbray)

If you fancy something a little bit different this Halloween, why not go for a swim? I’m being serious. Race Hub will be hosting a spooky swim on the 31st of October at 6pm.

Now I am aware that it is starting to get dark around that time now. Don’t worry, Race Hub have a solution. They’re going to be providing glow sticks to help guide your way as you swim. In addition, they are encouraging fancy dress. As someone who once decided to swim lengths in a pool in a sheep onesie (that’s a story for another time), I must commend any swimmers who decide to put together a costume.

Entry to this event is £10pp and you’ll need to book your space via the gym catch app. Don’t worry if you’re new. You’ll be able to create your own gym catch account and then follow Race Hub.

Xtreme Scream Park (Twinlakes Park, Melton Spinney Road, Melton Mowbray)

Xtreme Scream Park, shouldn’t work. This is the same place that has kiddies running around looking at farm animals and sliding down slides. Yet it does. It works really bloody well.

This multi-award winning scare park features 7 attractions. Including a brand new attraction with an amazing beginning and the best scare attraction IN EUROPE! Yes, Europe.

The park is open during multiple dates between now and the 1st of November. Entry varies on date, the cheapest dates will set you back £36.50pp and the most expensive dates are £40.95pp. Fasttrack tickets are also available for an additional £20pp. I would advise the latter if you want to do the additional offerings like the night rides and circus shows without sacrificing an attraction in the process. I go into this rational into some more detail during my Xtreme Scream review that I published on this blog at the start of this month.
