There’s alot of stuff that happens behind the scenes at My Melton. Interestingly enough, I don’t actually tell you guys about the various conversations/emails/forms/etc. that all form part of My Melton. You guys just get to see the pretty (or not so pretty) bits of content. So I’m starting a new blog series where I tell you what goes on behind the scenes.
The loading/unloading decision

On the 14th January, MBC sent an email to everyone on their regeneration emailing list about the changes of loading/unloading times. These were extended by an hour during the pandemic but will be going back to “normal” as of the 27th January. I’m pretty sure you guys would’ve seen the 4 that has been stuck onto the sign at this point. What we don’t know yet is who in the borough was actually consulted since MBC cllrs are adamant that this is a decision they disagree with and had no say in.
I want you guys to have access to this information so you can all form a decision based on said info. So earlier on this week, I contacted highways regarding who was consulted in this decision. I hope to update you guys in the next Stuff You Don’t See blog post.
Project Seal

So I’m part of a small team who are working on a new project that will be taking place in summer of this year. As is stands only a small number of people (basically the organising team and the venues we’ve sent enquiries to) know about what I have dubbed Project Seal. Project Seal is going to be a showcase of the best of the best within the Melton borough. A best of Melton gathering if you will. I hope to divulge more details very soon (basically when we have a final date locked in), mainly because I am that excited that I’m literally gonna burst.
The new Noel’s Arms
This week I got to have my first proper meeting with the Noel’s Arms team. These guys are looking at a summer 2025 reopening baring everything stays on schedule and are looking at a completely different vibe. Bands at night are going to be replaced by chilled Sunday afternoon musicians (think harp players instead of singers) and aims to put Melton on the map in a brand new way. I hope to be able to post some more photos around March/April time but if the final project matches the team’s vision, you guys are gonna be in for a treat.
So that’s a taste of the stuff you don’t see
Tune in next week where hopefully I’ll be able to update on this week’s stuff.
