I once wrote a blog highlighting all the ways to celebrate the spooky season in Melton Mowbray this year. According to my stats, that post was well read (and if you click the word blog, you can read it if you haven’t already). In true Meltonian fashion, since that post went live, an array of additional Halloween happenings has been scheduled, including celebrity appearances, kids’ discos, and a spooky market. So, as Kermit once sang, “we’re doing a sequel”, so enjoy even more ways to celebrate Halloween in Melton Mowbray.

Boneyard Bazaar

A Melton Mowbray market dedicated to all things spooky and bizarre will be taking place at The Stockyard on the 27th of October from 6–10 pm. This event promises 14 stalls offering everything from taxidermy to cakes. There’s bound to be something that catches your eye amidst the darkness. Entry is free, and there’s complimentary parking in all council-owned car parks after 6 pm, so you won’t have to carry everything home on foot.
The Rocky Horror Interactive Cinema Experience

Time Warp at a cinema? It might sound a bit peculiar, but honestly, it’s probably the least bizarre sight you’ll encounter at The Regal Cinema that evening. Happening on the 26th of October from 8:30 pm, this cinema experience with a twist is back by popular demand. I read in my Regal Cinema brochure that toast will be involved. Confused? So am I, but the only way to clarify is to book your seat. Standard tickets are £16 per person and luxury seats are £19. Note that there are discounted tickets for those over 60 and students. Oh, and fellow Regal members, you do get that £1.50 off—I checked while researching.
Halloween Soft Play Party at Melton Sports Village

If your child hasn’t yet explored the new soft play area at Melton Sports Village, why not use Halloween as an opportunity to check it out? On the 31st of October, kids can participate in one of two themed sessions. At 1 pm, younger bats and pumpkins can join a spooky movement and music session with Sarah, while an after-school disco kicks off at 4 pm for ghouls of all ages.
Both sessions feature spooky games, a scavenger hunt, and prizes for those in fancy dress. To book your slot, call 01664 481188.
Glow In The Dark Party at Cutting Room

DJ Gav will be spinning the decks from 9 pm on the 26th of October at Cutting Room, playing the best Halloween anthems and classics. What differentiates this from a standard Saturday night is the glow theme. Expect various glow giveaways throughout the evening for a cheeky treat. One of the event’s highlights is free entry all night.
Additionally, here’s a My Melton insider tip. If you have a large group (at least 6 people including yourself), consider pre-reserving one of their multiple party and drinks packages. Party packages start at £65 per group (just under £11 each if 6 of you split it) and go up to £240 per group (or £13.34 each if 18 of you split it).
Halloween Crafts with Kick Up The Arts

If you have a creative child, this activity is a must in your diary. Happening on the 26th of October, this 1-hour craft session includes a pumpkin tealight painting activity and a chance for kids to craft their own spooky ghosts.
Sessions are available from 10-11 am, 12-1 pm, and 2-3 pm. Each session costs £15 per child and includes all materials. To book, visit Kick Up The Arts’ social media profiles and click the link. Wondering where Kick Up The Arts is located? It’s in The Bell Centre; enter via The Pork Pie Shop and follow the path around the building.
Nigel Baker Live at The Grapes

Nigel will perform live for The Grapes’ first Halloween since it ran under new management earlier this year. Entrance is free, and the best-dressed guest wins a special prize. It takes place on the 25th of October from 7 pm.
Rocky Horror Night at The White Hart

For just £3 per person, this themed night combines a movie showing with a Halloween party. At The White Hart, the night kicks off with a screening of the original 1975 version of The Rocky Horror Show, followed by a disco until late. Spooky cocktails will be available for purchase, and fancy dress is highly encouraged.
To reserve your ticket, either contact them via social media or visit the pub directly.
Genny B X Geordie Shore X Brotherhood Takeover Crossover

Some might question if this belongs in the blog, but I affirm it does. Geordies can be quite scary creatures—have you seen them on a night out in winter? Not a single big coat in sight and they top chips with gravy.
Jokes aside, Nathan from Geordie Shore is the latest celeb Brotherhood Takeover has brought to Melton this year. Where better to host someone known for getting ‘mortal’ on national television than the Genny B, a pub famed for celeb hosting since David Potts’ visit during Easter.
Limited £10 tickets are available at The Genny B. If you’re unable to visit the town between now and the 25th of October, Brotherhood Takeover will provide a link on their page. Ensure you act quickly if you plan to attend, as these nights are always popular when a celeb is involved.
Tara Simms Live at Charlie’s Bar

Famed for having the largest selection of beers in Melton Mowbray by far, Charlie’s Bar hosts a Halloween party on the 26th of October from 7 pm. The popular live music artist, Tara Simms, will perform, and the best costume will earn a £20 bar credit—a treat I know some of you will appreciate.
Jungle Bugs’ Kids Halloween Parties

Jungle Bugs, a soft play area located in Melton Mowbray’s town center, will host 4 Halloween parties between the 25th and 27th of October. Tickets are £15 for each one-year-old and £16.50 for kids aged two and above. All tickets include entry to both the disco and soft play, party food, and a treat bag to take home. DJ Chrispy will be spinning kid-friendly Halloween hits at all parties.
The 4 parties are scheduled for:
Friday 25th October: 11 am to 1 pm. This party is for children aged 4 and under. Food options include ham, cheese, or jam sandwiches with cocktail sausages, crisps, cucumber, and carrot sticks, followed by either jelly or ice cream.
Friday 25th October: 4-6 pm. Open to all. Party food options are pizza, chicken nuggets, or a hot dog, with chips, cucumber, and carrot sticks, followed by either jelly or ice cream.
Saturday 26th October: 4-6 pm. Same details as the 25th October 4-6 pm party.
Sunday 27th October: SEN exclusive party. Party food options are the same as on the 25th of October, 4-6 pm, and Saturday the 26th of October, but feel free to contact them if you are concerned about your child’s food preferences.
To book, message Cathy at 07806658735. Note, while fancy dress is encouraged, please refrain from painting your child’s face. Full payment is required upfront to secure the spot.
I am confident that there will be even more Halloween announcements soon

If that’s the case, I will upload a part 3 covering all the entertainment. In the meantime, I have some Christmas-related content in the pipeline, along with general Melton Mowbray updates.
